Description
Contained in this D20 table are 20 settings, and their vibrant descriptions, that a Viking might encounter on their adventures.
These settings are in the Official Viking Universe (OVU) for the Vikingr Role Playing Game. The tales of Vikingr take place in the Age of Beasts after the events of Ragnarok. However these settings can be used in any RPG because they are system agnostic.
Use these as they are for one shot adventure prompts or as sources of inspiration for homebrew campaigns.

01 – Drizzling Plains
The loose dirt trail under foot is little more than an old shepherd’s path barely discernible from seasons of disuse. Occasionally you pass between low narrow piles of rock that snake off into the distance once separating pasture from pasture. The wood from their gates is already reclaimed by mother Yggdrasil leaving behind only rusted fasteners to remember them by. It is difficult to see the rolling hills at the horizon for the drizzle is creating a light refreshing mist that clouds your sight. The heat of the warm season melts away and is replaced by an embracing chill. Welcome and refreshing, the moist air soaks your nostrils and revitalizes you. The gentle pittering of the drops blend into a soothing muted roar drenching your hearing. You wish you could slow your pace and lose yourself in the calm.
02 – Bifröst
You now stand before the exalted bridge, Bifröst. Before the cataclysmic events of Ragnarök it was the shimmering ethereal link between the godly sphere and that of man. After the fall of the Gods it has taken on a weathered corporeal form no less magnificent and seems to have retained its rainbow laced Eitr surface. This near to the lands of Asgardr, it matters not where you look, Bifröst is directly ahead beckoning you to explore the now material lands past its yawning threshold. You must be wary for the twisted wraith of Heimdal still plys the crossing. An age has passed since he was welcoming.
